Ralph Troschke

Ralph enters his 4th year with the Mustangs as the Throws Coach. He spent 5 years with the Kitchener-Waterloo Track Club coaching middle distance; 4 years with the Split City Sonics (Lloydminster) coaching developmental athletes and throwers; and 3 years with the Airdrie Aces coaching throwers. If you attend track meets in Alberta regularly, you may recognize him from coaching throws, officiating throws, or announcing and being one of the two “voices” of Athletics Alberta. He has also completed 3 seasons as a high school coach and currently doubles as the X-Country coach for The King’s University in Edmonton on the ACAC circuit.

He is quite proud of his past and current throwers. A quick check in the all-time national age class rankings will bring to light the names of Andreas Troschke and Jinaye Shomachuk. They are current USport competitors and past Legion Nationals’ medalists under Ralph. His current crop of throwers includes reining Alberta U18 hammer throw champ Lauren Friesen (ranked number 2 in Canada), and indoor U16 weight throws champs Sydney Kube and Justin Schulz. He has also assisted Masters thrower, Andrea Deiner, to several Canadian records.
